My A,
and S-grade pipes (incl. Elie's metal pipes)
may be returned unsmoked and by registered
and insured mail only, within 3 days
after arrival (online tracking as proof), if
you are not satisfied about it. In that case,
I cannot refund: shipping costs (yours and
mine), nor handling costs, nor PayPal fees,
nor taxes. If some kind of discount (example:
free handling charges) or free goods have been
given: they will also be subtracted from the
refund. A re-publishing fee (site) of €10,00
can also be applicable. Smoked pipes can only
be returned if serious material flaws have
appeared within three months after purchase. R
(reject, low cost), and estate pipes are not
guaranteed. They are sold 'as is'.
Payment
Non-Eurozone
(USA,
UK,etc.) customers are requested to pay
by PayPal, xe.com (USA and others or Wise (UK)
and in Euros only.
Sorry,
but I cannot accept any kind of checks. It
takes too much time, and sending it involves
too many risks. Moreover: European banks
charge around 15-16% on clearing a foreign
check, IF they even accept them.
Eurozone
customers (customers who have the Euro as
their national currency): please pay
only by bank transfer. It is free of charge,
according to EU laws. If you still insist on
paying by PayPal, you need to add 5,00% to the
total amount (shipping costs included) for
PayPal fees. I'm sorry to have to take this
measure, but my prices are already very, very
sharp.

in making your payment choice for
Non-Eurozone payments:
After very, very
bad experiences with the tech support
(IT, no dispute whatsoever) of PayPal,
I prefer payment by Wise Or Xe. One
and a half month of not being able to
access my PayPal account, many phone
calls and many "100%" sure solutions
didn't lead to anything. I finally
opened a new account without problems
and closed my inaccessible one that I
fortunately had emptied some time
before due to fears of trouble, caused
by the big class lawsuit against
PayPal because of the 'Honey' scandal.
Moreover: you'll
get a better exchange rate than on
PayPal, while paying only a small
fee, in particular by ACH.
WISE and XE:

clearly in the direction of Wise.
I
hereby quote a detailed comparison by a

Reservations
Reservations
are
not made anymore, unless a non-refundable
down-payment of at least 25% is done. Special,
custom build orders can only be accepted after
a down-payment of 75% has been made (not
required for 'not-too-special-orders). Special
orders under €150,00 (excl. shipping) can
normally not be accepted anymore.
Shipping
info
Your
pipe or other order will be shipped after
full payment has been received.
Minimum order is
€75,00 (excl. shipping) with some exceptions
for a few Eurozone countries (much less
paperwork).
Orders
above €75,00 (excl.shipping): only actual
shipping costs +15%, which are the mandatory
governmental health insurance contributions
that are calculated quarterly on the raw total
invoice, so also on the shipping fees. I
work under a very simplified tax-system,
designed for micro-enterprises. Only
€15,00 handling fees
could (could) be added to a small order
requiring making customs documents, although
order picking, packing, communication with the
customer, preparing customs documents, driving
to the far away post-office, etc. etc. takes a
lot of time.
Being a
pro, I can only make a (be it small) profit on
orders above €75,00 (excl. shipping). In the
case of micro-orders: your parcel cannot be
shipped immediately. In case I have other
shipments to send or need to be in town for
shopping, etc.: shipping is done. (I ship at
least ones/2 weeks). If you need immediate
shipping: €20,00 for driving to the
post-office will be charged. This covers only
a minor fraction of the real costs.
VERY
IMPORTANT
For a
limited number of countries in the EU,
I can offer very cheap, fast and insured
shipping (with tracking).
For other
than those limited number of countries, there
is only one company available: La Poste
(French Postal). And they recently made
major changes to their tariffs.
Now, they offer 2 different shipping
services: 'Colissimo', which
they claim is very fast, with full tracking
and insurance (supplement, according to the
value, will be paid by me). Sign on
delivery. This service however doesn't come
very cheap (in comparison, if your order isn't
considerable).
Then there is 'Delivengo', cheap but
slower and tracking only available for 43
countries (USA included). Sign for.
Destinations outside those 43 countries:
tracking ends when the parcel leaves France. There
is no possibility to pay for insurance on
your parcel. Sorry, but I will
only ship by that cheaper service for small
orders if you declare explicitly to not take
any action against me via Paypal in case you
didn't receive your parcel or the carrier
damaged the goods. Proof of shipping and
tracking code will always be provided.
Pipe-making has become a non-lucrative trade,
and it would be unfair to put even more
loss-making burden on the artisan. Please make
your decision yourself, considering costs and
benefits.
(Please note that FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc. are
available in France only in the major cities,
not here, but you don't even want to know
their extremely high shipping fees. Would make
you dizzy.)
All
pipes are packed with utmost care. If you
don't trust it anyway, or you would like to
have it proudly displayed at home or offer it
as a nice gift: for €25,00-€35,00 supplement
you will receive your pipe in an adapted,
upholstered nice wooden box. With my seal on
it. There is no limit on this offer: it might
even be an R-grade pipe. In case you order a
wooden box: shipping prices are a bit higher,
of course.
